SOUTH AFRICA
SUMMARY
We rode through South Africa on our Motorbike and it was fantastic. Almost everywhere do you have the choice of tarmac – gravel – 4wd. Very easy self drive.
Wonderful people that are incredibly welcoming and hospitable. Many invited us into their homes. We did unfortunately see and feel the remains of apartheid. A country still scared by its past.

Most places have decent internet (4mb+). We chose to get MTN Sim cards and buy data packages. MTN has the best 4G coverage in the country.
Brai Brai Brai… You gotta Brai.. South Africans love their Brai (the rest of the world knows it as a BBQ). Don’t leave without trying a Brai bro.
We never felt unsafe, but have heard stories of car hijackings and muggings. In general big cities at night is a no go. Keep your room locked and ask at your accomodation what areas are safe.
