Whale watching was exciting. You meet at the office of the tour operator in the early morning, about 7AM, wait for everyone to arrive and then hop in a car. Twenty minutes later we were at the launching spot where we jumped on the boat. We were handed out yellow waterproof coats and off we went into the ocean! Holding on to the boat tight, we were hopping over some big waves. Our captain was happy to tell us all about the majestic creatures and soon enough we spotted our first whale. We didn’t see a whale breaching the surface of the water, only a tip and the tail. Also, to take a quality photo you need a camera with a decent lens as most of the time you’ll see the whale in the far distance. Still, it was quite a moment to realise how massive those creatures were! We would do it again for sure 🙂
TIPS
it can be quite choppy, remember about seasickness tablets etc
they give you a waterproof coat but bring a buff or a thin hat, it can be windy!
if you want to take photos, you'll need some good ZOOM lenses
