LESOTHO AND SWAZILAND

SUMMARY

A real ADV / 4×4 haven. The highest low point it at 1400m above sea level. You’ve got lovely mountain passes, tarred and off-road to chose from.

Genuinely friendly curious. If you stop on the side of the road for too long chances are someone will pull over and ask to take a photo with you.

Semonkong

Semonkong Lodge $$$ (Abseil the waterfall and play with the ponies)

Very hard to come by. The few places that had it required you to pay about 10$ for one day of WiFi access.

Try the local fat cakes, “Mochinas”. They are a sort of round donut without sugar, but just sweet enough. Very addicitive.

We felt very safe and had no issues. Some of the off-road road conditions are very challenging – this is concerning as it would be very difficult to get to a hospital should something happen.
